Stair chairs are used by many people who have difficulty using the stairs. People over 65 have a high risk of injury due to falls down the stairs and a stair lift can greatly reduce this risk. They are installed onto the steps or wall and send a chair or small platform up and down the steps.

One of the leading manufacturers of stair lifts is AmeriGlide. AmeriGlide stair lifts utilize only the finest materials and have been tested to provide years of service with very little maintenance. In fact their AC and DC units have been proven to provide over 16 years of service with little wear on the drive system. They require only minor lubrication and inspection every 4-6 months.

In addition to being fully tested, AmeriGlide stair lifts also incorporate high grade metal and cabling. They use aircraft cable, which has a 4,200 pound breaking point, and their outdoor units are specially coated to keep them impervious to the elements. They also incorporate several safety features, including special footrest sensors that can detect objects that may interfere with its travel.

AmeriGlide stair lifts are built to last and will provide many years of service. They are designed to be easily installed and can be installed on almost all straight stair cases, including those made out of concrete.
